Japan
When I went to Japan last year, I took my sketchbook to capture my impressions. I actually managed to do at least one drawing a day. It is really nice to sketch while travelling, because you look closer at your surroundings and you take your time instead of quickly passing by.
I only took polychromo-pencils and really grew to like them in the course of the month.

Rotoscope
Testing a look for a possible film project. Although it is completly digital, I tried to give it a hand colored/ ink look:

Fair Trade Pixilation
Our class participated in a contest to promote fair trade with a film (REC A FAIR). The teams consisted mostly of two people and some really nice and different films were made. We (Nicole Aebersold and I) decided to go with a pixilation ( animation of humans) and a graphical look. This technique is usually fast and the results are kind of surreal.
Unfortunately, none of us won, but it was still a good experience. Also, it was nice to test animating with humans. Here is the result:
Here are some making-of photos from the set:
Mostly, we animated and acted at the same time, but we also had help from several classmates.
Here you can also check out the other entries from our school:

Short animation
Slightly kitschy animation exerice : ) The point was to animate a special effect like falling snow, rain or flower petals.

Summer workshop
In the summer of last year me and some friends from university went
on an self-organized drawing/ painting workshop to rural parts of
Brandenburg. Three days of swimming in lakes, having a campfire, making
music and of course drawing a lot!
All in all it was a very productive trip, but felt more like holidays : )
Here are some impressions of the place:
Here we had 5 minutes for each drawing:
And then just different styles and techniques:

Maggie
This was a christmas-present for my father: A notebook filled with illustrations of our dog Maggie, who is crazy for tennis balls. I wanted to try out different techniques and styles.
